"Succession" é a série mais nomeada para os Emmys

Hoje foram conhecidos os finalistas dos prémios da televisão norte-americana, os Emmys, uma lista infindável de 119 categorias que trouxe "Succession" como o mais nomeado. O drama familiar da HBO somou 25 nomeações. Seguiram-se na contagem a comédia "Ted Lasso", da Apple TV+, e "The White Lotus", também da HBO, com 20 nomeações cada.

"Hacks" (HBO) e "Only Murders in the Building" (Disney) surgem na listagem em 17 ocasiões, mais uma do que "Euphoria" (HBO).

Logo depois, aparecem "Barry" (14), "Dopesick" (14), "Severance" (14), "Squid Game" (14), "Ozark" (13), "Stranger Things" (13), "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" (12) e "Pam & Tommy" (10).

"Squid Game" entra para a história como a primeira série falada noutra língua além do inglês a ser nomeada para um Emmy de horário nobre (anacrónica designação atribuída a estes prémios da academia norte-americana de televisão).

O sucesso sul-coreano da Netflix arrecadou 14 nomeações incluindo melhor drama, melhor actor (Lee Jung-jae), melhor actor secundário (Park Hae-soo e Oh Yeong-su), melhor actriz secundária (Jung Ho-yeon) e actriz convidada (Lee You-mi). Hwang Dong-hyuk, criador da série, também foi nomeado pela escrita e realização.

Na contagem por canais, ou plataformas de streaming, a HBO surge na frente com 140 nomeações (mais 10 do que em 2021). A Netflix teve 105 (menos 24); a Hulu (serviço de streaming da Disney nos EUA) subiu para 58 com grande ajuda da comédia policial com Selena Gomez, Steve Martin e Martin Short. A Apple TV+ teve 51 nomeações (mais 16 do que no ano passado).

A Disney recebeu 34 nomeações (92 no total combinado com a Hulu). A Prime Video da Amazon ficou-se pelas 30. As cadeias televisivas tradicionais vêm atrás com CBS (29), NBC (28) e ABC (23).

Os Emmys vão ser entregues em duas cerimónias. A primeira, dedicada às categorias técnicas e criativas, está marcada para 3 e 4 de setembro. A cerimónia onde serão conhecidos os programas vencedores e os premiados nas categorias de representação terá lugar no fim de semana seguinte, a 12 de setembro.
