81.º Festival de Veneza com Almodóvar e a sequela de "Joker"

A programação do 81.º Festival de Cinema de Veneza foi revelada esta manhã pelo Presidente da Bienal, Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, e pelo Diretor Artístico, Alberto Barbera.

Entre as 21 longas-metragens da competição, destaca-se a presença de "Joker: Folie à Deux", de Todd Phillips, com Lady Gaga e Joaquin Phoenix ("Joker" venceu o festival em 2019), e do filme em língua inglesa de Pedro Almodóvar, "The Room Next Door".

Luca Guadagnino apresenta "Queer", com Daniel Craig, e o chileno Pablo Larraín surge com a biopic da diva da ópera Maria Callas, protagonizada por Angelina Jolie, Pierfrancesco Favino e Alba Rohrwacher.

Outros títulos que chamam a atenção no alinhamento que concorre ao Leão de Ouro veneziano incluem "Harvest", da grega Athina Rachel Tsangari, com Caleb Landry Jones, "The Order", do australiano Justin Kurzel, que dirige Nicholas Hoult, Jude Law e Tye Sheridan num thriller sobre assaltos a bancos e terrorismo interno nos EUA, e o muito aguardado "The Brutalist", de Brady Corbet, a história de um arquiteto e do seu misterioso cliente, com Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones e Guy Pierce.

Fora de competição, já se sabia, será "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice", de Tim Burton, a abrir o festival.
